Harvesting of the MATOES

We have had a wonderful summer this year and I have an awesome garden in the backyard thanks to my Dad who's secret calling in life is Master Gardener ( He knows it, but others may not). So if you can't get it to grow call him up, he can! One of Daxtons favorite things to do in the garden is to go and pick the "matoes", come back in and eat'em! (with ranch dippy of course)As he has so kindly demonstrated in these pictures. The "matoe" plants have gotten so big now that it has become a daily activity for us to "Harvest the matoes" and you know that our matoe loving neighbors who didn't plant ones of their own look forward to Daxtons little knock on the door and his polite "Matoe delivery" when the door is answered. He gets it from a show with a pizza guy who says pizza delivery, but he decided to put his own twist on it. Its very cute. Gardening is something I really enjoy and am learning to be better at. Its great to because Dax really like to pick the stuff and then eat it, he also really likes zucchini dipped in ranch too, and any time we go to play on the swings in the backyard it is a special treat to pick the sugar snap peas and eat them while swinging. I'm excited that he's excited about veggies.

UNCLE CRAIG

We love uncles!! And we are lucky to have uncle Craig staying with us! Dax thinks he is in heaven. Access to a whole new play toy right down stairs! Here are just a few pictures of our fun with uncle Craig - and any of you who actually know Craig should really be chuckling at these pictures, they just have Craig written all over them!

Dax thinks uncle Craig is really cool and so is his pewter. Our pewter doesn't do cool stuff like uncle Craig's!

Summer Fun

The sun is great and we just can't seem to get out of it. Here are some more of our fun times this summer.
These are at the Thanksgiving Point childrens garden, they have a huge Noah ark there in a kiddie pond and the animals on the boat all spit water out all over the place. Its very cute and perfect for kids as young as Dax is.

SPARKLERS!
Happy 4th to everyone! Here are a few pictures from our exciting night. I was really surprised that Dax would hold the sparkler, I didn't think he would. He did every single one in the box. Sparklers were a hit and a special thanks to Uncle Spencer and Auntie Diana for the glow sticks and parachute guy they were a hit as well.

And The Trees Are BIG Trees Here Mommy

Our trip to washington was so much fun, Mom forgot the camera so here are some of the pictures I was able to take with Aunt Kris' camera. These are pictures at the pier on the puget sound in olympia. Dax thought all the boats were really

cool, but he didn't think to much of the water. We live right next to a lake and I think that he thought it was just another lake. It was really neat to be back and to visit the pier again. The pier hasn't changed that much but the city sure has! I didn't think that I had been gone that long! These are just a few of the great pictures I got of us having fun on the pier.

G.G. is my favorite

While in Washington we had the chance to stay with Grandpa and Grandma Sample but we stayed in G.G.'s house(great grandma). This was a special treat. When we left for the first hour or so all Daxton could say was "Lets go to GG's, Yeah!" It was very cute. He was very taken by GG and the only way that we got him to stay happy in the car ride home was by telling him we were going to see the next grandma. Grandma Harper to which he happily replied "And Sananah Harper(gma's dog), and Sadie Harper(gma's other dog), and Heather Harper(auntie)" In this picture with GG, Dax is showing us his muscles.
The Kids together again!

Another great thing about getting the chance to go to washington again was that even though Craig lives in Utah with us he was in Washington at the time to and Spencer and Diana and Austin live there so the four of us Sample kids were able to get together again, it wasn't for as long as I would have liked it, but it was good to see them and catch up again. Needless to say our trip to washington was great and I hope we can do it again, sooner rather than later. We also had the chance to go to a seminary reunion, which I don't have any pictures of but it was so much fun to see everyone with kids running around and catch up on what everyone is doing. I wish we could do that more often, but I love the blogs, it helps me feel still in touch! We loved our trip and the drive wasn't all that bad!

The Derby!!

We got to go to the Bluffdale Demo Derby and Dax thought it was the coolest thing ever!! Of course he is big time into the Cars movie so they were all chick cars and king and mcqueen cars, because they all had numbers on them. My parents were in town and Hutchs parents came with us also. It was a lot of fun. You should be able to tell by some of the picture of Dax biting his fingers in excitement, and pointing. He did not want to leave! We finally told him that they all had to go home and go to sleep (like the cars movie). He stood up and shouted "more, more, more crashin" And now everytime we drive past it, he'll say over and over again " I want to see the cars crash mommy" I tell him they are in the shop getting fixed.

I love this picture, 3 generations of Harper boys, Grandpa, Dad and Dax.
